Continuing to invest in in-house driver training

We are pleased to announce that ACS&T has now completed its fourth consecutive year of in-house driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training.

As part of this year’s programme, 41 LGV licence holders across our Scarborough, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Grimsby sites undertook advanced training on emergency response testing for spillages.

The course was delivered by ACS&T’s Traffic Controller and resident CPC Instructor, Paul Flack, who said:

“ACS&T’s investment in regular in-house training not only demonstrates a real commitment to the future of its staff, but also to its customers. By ensuring our drivers perform in accordance with strict industry guidelines, our customers can be sure that their products are being transported by the very best in the business.”

Under new government legislation all drivers must carry a Driver Qualification Card (DQC) when driving professionally. In order to retain the DQC, drivers have to complete 35 hours of CPC training every five years and we will be completing the final stage of the programme before September of this year.
